Shamanic healing as practiced by Core Shamanism practitioners is a safe and effective form of spiritual healing, addressing spiritual causes of unwellness.* Culturally-specific practices have healed people of all ages for thousands of years; their common central elements form the basis of healing in Core Shamanism, ethically applying shamanic healing techniques in contemporary, non-traditional settings.
With the client's explicit informed consent**, Core Shamanism practitioners use drumming to go into an altered state of consciousness to facilitate spiritual healing by compassionate, transcendent helping spirits. During this altered state the practitioner remains aware and in control of their body. They work in collaboration with compassionate, transcendent helping spirits to facilitate spiritual healing. The practitioner is the facilitator; the spirits are the true healers.
While each session is unique, healings typically involve:
(Completely optional - please let me know if you wish any or all excluded from your session. This will not affect the quality/effectiveness of the healing.)
Spiritual healing sessions are often followed by a period of time in which you may feel a little spacey or ungrounded.
This may be followed by a few days in which you feel different or a little emotionally fragile or unsettled - this is normal, and is what people often refer to as a period of integration. Be gentle with yourself; food, water, rest and being in nature (especially in direct contact with the ground or plants - hug a tree!) are excellent ways to reground and support the healing process.
You are offered a 15-minute phone call after your session to support your healing process and/or answer any questions.
These sessions can also be done remotely (with or without interaction via phone or video call, depending on your preference). Remote sessions are just as effective as in-person sessions.
